Environmental Chemistry Lab II

9th-12th grade. (No class on Good Friday) This course consists of 8 high school level Chemistry laborarotory exercises and related discussions while stressing the Chemistry of Earth's environment. Students are expected to have had prior Chemistry laboratory experience including titrations and chromatography, possibly by having taken Environmental Chemistry I from Mrs. Wentz. Biology-Anatomical Survey
|
9th-12th grade (No class on Good Friday) This course consists of 8 ghigh school level Biology laboratory exercises and related discussions. Work will includes lessons in lab safety, as well as dissectins and experiments designed to encourage a study of the structures, organizations, and function of various organisms and how they relate to the human body. Animals we will dissect include the earthworm, grasspopper, crayfish, perch, frog (2 classes) and fetal pigs(2 classes). Lab fee included. Tell Your Story Digitally
|
7th-12th grade Imagine how much fun it would be if you could combine your voice with your photgraphs to tell your stories digitally. Come join us as we learn how to use a variety of software tools to put your story ideas into a format you can share. You will learn how to storyboard your ideas, record narration, combine photos, original artwork and downloaded "free" music to polish your story. We will be using a variety of freeware programs readily available to you so that you can work of your stories at home during the week. Requirements, familiarity with computers and accessing the internte, USB thumb drive, digital or scanned photos,a microphone or digital recorder with USB connection, spriral notebook and pen. Let's Paint Animals
|
(No class on Good Friday) 1st-3rd grades Bring in a photo of your favorite animal. It could be a horse, trutle, or praying mantis. You could even paint a portrait of your pet tarantula! Students will learn different stages of drawing and painting, with helpful hints, skills and techniques. parents and guests will be invited to a showing of completed artwork. Decorate With Your Own Design
|
4th-8th grade (No class on Good Friday) Students will paint patterns, shapes and designs on an item they bring in. It could be a shelf, mirror, picture frame, vase, lampshade, jewelry box, bookends or corkboardd, the possibilities endless! Next, each student will make abstract or semi abstract paintings. We will explore artists Jackson Pollock, Willem DeKooning and more. The last day of class students will display their work for parents and guests. Wear painting clothes, it could get messy.
