The job fair is sponsored by McHenry County College and McHenry County Workforce Network and will give job seekers with various skill levels the opportunity to meet recruiters from three area agencies: Manpower, Aerotek and The Agency Staffing. Most of the job openings are in the manufacturing sector, including quality control and material handlers, CNC, and maintenance mechanic. Other positions available include office professionals, including mortgage/banking, secretarial, customer service, data entry, general office and accounting. There will be no class on May 8. The course is designed for paraprofessionals and those who plan to work as paraprofessionals in the education system. The course will focus on reading, writing and math skills in preparation to take the ACT WorkKeys(r) Assessment. The curriculum is intended to serve as a refresher/review course of subject matter learned in previous educational experiences. Those with a minimum of 60 college credits or a degree from a foreign university may not need to take the assessment. Class will begin with a cost of $60. A literacy volunteer tutor does not have to speak a second language to teach in the adult education literacy program. The free basic training provides the information and skills needed to work with literacy students. Flexible work schedules are provided to meet people s busy schedules.
