Trustee Emeritus Barbara Walters Scholarship
The Trustee Emeritus Barbara Walters Scholarship was established in 2014 by past MCC Trustee Mary Miller and MCC Trustee Emeritus Barbara Walters. The scholarship provides $500.00 in funding for tuition, books and fees for the semester awarded. The recipient of the scholarships must be enrolled in and pursuing a degree in Science and/or Mathematics, a resident of McHenry County and maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Mr. Justin Bradley of Wonder Lake was selected as the recipient for the Trustee Emeritus Barbara Walters Scholarship for the 2015 Spring Semester and 2016 Spring Semester. Justin maintained a 4.0 GPA and is a recipient of multiple foundation scholarships while attending MCC. He graduated from MCC with an Associates of Science degree in May of 2016. After graduation he transferred to Northern Illinois University and is currently enrolled in the Computer Science program. Justin states that “MCC has been an important initiation into higher education for me as it has allowed the flexibility to work full time employment while returning to school.” Justin says that he has goals towards working in a career within the field of software engineering, computer security, or scientific computing.
