Bill Grey Memorial Art Scholarship
The Bill Grey Memorial Art Scholarship was established by an MCC administrator in memory of William “Bill” Grey, a former employee of McHenry County College. Bill was a graduate of MCC, where he majored in art. Bill’s passions included music, art, and history—especially the Civil War. Because of these passions, the scholarship fund will provide an award to an MCC student majoring in art. The scholarship will be available for the Spring 2016 semester and will provide funding toward books and art supplies.
Ms. Kristina R. VanOchten was the recipient of the Bill Grey Memorial Art Scholarship for the Spring 2015 semester. She is attending MCC to earn an Associate in Fine Art and plans to graduate in 2017. She currently holds a 3.25 GPA and has taken over ten art classes in painting, photography, and ceramics. Upon graduation, she will attend Northern Illinois University and work toward receiving a bachelor’s degree in Art and Design Education to become a teacher and freelance artist.
