Emergency Dispatcher Certificate
Do you enjoy helping others? Are you able to remain calm and collected under pressure? Emergency dispatching may be the perfect career for you! Emergency dispatchers are generally the first responders in an emergency, handling the essential duties of obtaining vital information while keeping a cool head, calming others, and sending the appropriate responders to the right location. They may also provide lifesaving instructions to the 911 caller.
MCC’s Emergency Dispatcher Certificate will introduce you to the realities of this profession and prepare you for this rewarding and exciting field. This program provides the foundation for statewide competency as a public safety dispatcher and prepares you to take the National Emergency Communications Certification (NECC) exam. The cost of the exam is included in the certificate. The certificate is also stackable, meaning it counts toward the Criminal Justice AAS degree at MCC if you choose to continue your studies.
