Using Wi-Fi

  • What are the Wi-Fi restrictions?

The Wi-Fi networks are intended for educational use therefore, downloads of .mp3, .exe and .zip files are restricted and sites are content-filtered.

  • Can MCC staff help me configure my computer?

No, but we can offer some helpful tips (see the below “How do I connect to the wireless at MCC”). Every device is different, and you are responsible for knowing how to configure your own device and for any changes you make to your computer's settings. MCC cannot be responsible for any changes you make to your computer's settings, or for any consequences of changes you make to your computer's settings. MCC staff cannot assist you in making changes.

  • How do current students and staff connect to the wireless at MCC?

New Current Students and employees connect to the secure, encrypted, MCC-Student or MCC-Employee networks

    • Log in with your MCC username and password (employees do not add @mchenry.edu).
    • If your device displays an mccfederation popup window, enter your username and password.
      • Students enter your username@students.mchenry.edu and password
      • Employees enter your username@mchenry.edu and password
    • Once connected, your device will automatically re-connect when entering campus, until your password expires.
    • Remember to update your wi-fi password on all of your devices after you reset your MCC password or your account will lock. Forget the network on your device to update your password.

    Troubleshooting
