New-Student Orientation (NSO) is an important two-part program where you'll learn more about the college, connect with faculty and advisors, and learn to plan and register for your classes.
All new full-time students are required to complete NSO in order to register as full-time students.
While NSO is optional for new part-time students, we strongly encourage you to take it as it provides useful information about MCC and its various student services.
Review the New-Student Checklist and follow the checklist instructions under Step 1. Apply and Prepare! before attending the optional Part II In-Person NSO.
- Part I: Online Pre-Orientation - Available now!
- Part II: In-Person New-Student Orientation
Once you complete Part I: Online Pre-Orientation, we will send an email to your MCC-issued student email inviting you to register for Part II.
Join us on campus to:
- register for classes
- engage with your peers, faculty, and staff
- tour campus
- get your free student ID
- grab some MCC swag, treats and have the chance to win prizes
Part II: In-Person Orientations run 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and will be offered May 17, June 8 and 30, July 12 and 28, and August 9.
If you're uncomfortable attending a large, in-person event, complete Part I: Online New-Student Orientation and then call us at (815) 479-7565 to schedule a one-on-one Zoom appointment as an alternative to the Part II, in-person orientation event.
