English—Associate in Arts (AA) Degree
The ability to effectively read, write, and comprehend is an essential skill in almost any career. If you can communicate clearly and concisely—and convey your message in a meaningful, relevant way—you’ll have a competitive edge with a wide variety of future employers.
In MCC’s English program, you’ll study technical writing, composition, research writing, literature, mythology, and more. The curriculum goes beyond formats, formulas, and grammar to teach you how to apply the core principles of writing and literature—to be observers of the world, thoughtful examiners of life, and creative critical thinkers.
In addition to the program material, you can submit your work to be featured in Voices, MCC’s literary magazine published each spring semester. There’s also an opportunity to bring your creative writing to the Writer’s Club, a student organization that hosts write-a-thons, author readings, student readings, and more.
