History

Studying history can teach us important lessons about our present and future. By gaining a deeper understanding of where we came from and how we got here, we become better global citizens and more informed members of our community.

Students in MCC’s History program examine themes, developments, conflicts, and cultural activities in U.S., world, and local history. Classes are led by expert instructors and foremost researchers in the field. Hands-on learning opportunities in the program include the Undergraduate Student Research Program, participation in MCC presentations, and other opportunities to share research with the MCC community.

History majors can go on to pursue employment in a variety of fields, including education, government, business, law, and international relations.

Transfer Pathways are for students who plan to continue their education at a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor’s degree.
