Sociology

Humans have unique ways of interacting as part of the various groups we belong to—in our families, at school, with peers and sports teams, or at our church or workplaces. Our beliefs, thoughts, and actions are driven by both the point of time in the society we live in, and the groups we belong to. When we reflect on the processes in society that affect us, it gives us the ability to make the right choices and appreciate diversity in social class, race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age, and disability.

Sociology classes at MCC not only teach you basic sociological skills, but course materials, projects, and the instructors themselves offer you an opportunity to complete studies that change your perspectives on how the world works. You will be challenged to redefine your expectations of the world, how you see it, and how you interact with those who share it with you.
