Become a Full-Time Student at MCC

  1. Complete and submit your application online ($15 fee)
  2. Contact a recruiter at (815) 479-7732 or recruit@mchenry.edu with questions about classes, programs, or for assistance with the application process.
  3. Email your transcripts and test scores to admissions@mchenry.edu
    • A high school transcript is not required for admission but may be required for FAFSA purposes
    • Transcript documentation must include your full name, the school's name, and coursework with grade information.

  4. Take English, math, and reading placement tests in the Testing Center. Some ACT/SAT scores may be used in lieu of placement tests. To inquire whether placement tests are required for your program, ask an academic advisor.
  5. Learn about upcoming events and see helpful videos that cover several important topics for new students
  6. Apply for Financial Aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submitting a scholarship application
  7. Meet with an academic advisor
  8. Take New-Student Orientation
    • required for full-time students
    • highly encouraged for part-time students
  9. Register for classes online or in-person in Registration, A258
  10. Pay your tuition and fees
  11. Buy books
